Konami Confirms Hideo Kojima And Yoji Shinkawa Are Not Involved In Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Open To More Remakes If Fans Want Them

When Konami announced that it would be remaking Metal Gear Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, long-time fans noticed just how absent series creator Hideo Kojima was in any way, even in just the tone of the trailer.

Whether or not he, or any of the original key figures of the series would return, has been the big question circling the game since. Now, a new report from IGN Japan has confirmation from Konami, after asking them directly about Kojima, or any other key figures.

The answer it appears is no, Hideo Kojima, and Yoji Shinkawa, the principal character artist from the original games, will not be involved in the making of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

What is curious though is that Konami doesn’t close the door on any potential future Metal Gear Solid remakes the company might do.

“We will consider it while listening to the voices of our customers,” Konami said. While Metal Gear Solid 3 is a great place to start in terms of remakes, its definitely not the only one that could benefit from that treatment.

Particularly it would be interesting to see the original Metal Gear games get remade, taken from their original pixelated look to a more immersive, and cinematic experience, with a slew of modern-day quality of life gaming updates.
