BioWare is teasing what could be new Mass Effect Andromeda DLC featuring the fan-favorite Quarian race, which were notably absent in the latest instalment in the popular sci-fi RPG franchise.
Fans have been getting hot under the collar following the latest APEX multiplayer briefing for Andromeda. For those who aren’t familiar, the game’s online mode includes bite-sized storytelling via new missions that investigate the Kett and Remnant enemies, and the latest teaser appears to confirm that the Quarians will be making a comeback.

Why is this significant? Well, fans may recall that the Mass Effect Andromeda established that the helmet-wearing race are on board the Keelah Si’yah, an ark that also houses a number of other species including the Elcor, Volus, Hanar, and Drell. From the look of things, the teaser is definitely pointing to the return of the Quarians, which will no doubt please fans who favored Tali in the original trilogy.
What we don’t know, however, is the context in which the Quarians may return. They could be part of a new single-player expansion focusing on the Keelah Si’yah, or perhaps they’re being added to the list of playable races in the game’s multiplayer. BioWare hasn’t made anything official yet, so treat this with a pinch of salt until we hear otherwise.
Mass Effect Andromeda was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One back in March 2017. The game takes place hundreds of years following the events of the original Mass Effect trilogy and sees players exploring the titular Andromeda galaxy in search of a new home for humanity, with Pathfinder Ryder taking over from Commander Shepard as the main protagonist.
