Development on mission 51 for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will not be completed, Konami has confirmed.
The mission was scrapped during development of the critically acclaimed stealth-action sequel, although fans have been highly vocal about seeing the completed version due to the fact it wraps up various story threads, such as Elie.

However, Konami has said on Twitter that there’s no plans to finish the mission, and has insisted that it is “definitely not the ending” and that The Phantom Pain was “planned to end on [mission] 50.”
Despite this, a sneak peak at the unfinished mission was given away as part of Metal Gear Solid 5’s Collector’s Edition, though Konami has said this was merely intended as a “bonus gift [to collectors] showing behind-the-scenes content in early development.”
"The ending is found in the missions within," added Konami. "Many threads continue in Metal Gear and subsequent games."
Konami recently announced Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience for release on PS4 and Xbox One on October 11, 2016. The game features both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, plus all available downloadable content and the multiplayer-focused Metal Gear Online.
