Konami has released a new update for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, adding the fan-favorite Ocelot as a playable character for F.O.B missions.

The gunslinger, voiced by Troy Baker in the critically acclaimed stealth-action title, can utilise a pistol in each hand with the Tornado-6 with ricochet bullets on market targets. In addition, Ocelot is also able to reload and draw his weapon faster than other characters as you might expect.

While you can’t change his uniform or head, Ocelot’s camouflage value has been bumped slightly so his defence value matches the “highest defence value” within the unlocked battle dresses.

Elsewhere, the update also adds new features for the Wormhole Generator, which is now able to extricate your character from critical situation. In addition, enemies will find it harder destroy and will be unable to remove a place Wormhole Generator.

Players can also strap on new swimsuits and colours for F.O.B staff, while Diamond Dog soldiers are able to equip the Goblin Suit and Megalodon Suit, both of which give a boost in speed for the wearer. Various bug fixes have also been implemented with the latest update.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain was released for PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 September 2015, and was preceded by Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes in March 2014. The game takes place following Big Boss’s coma in the mid-80s, and sees him teaming up with Ocelot and establishing a new Mother Base to take revenge on the destruction of his previous unit.

The Phantom Pain is notable for being the final instalment in the venerable stealth franchise to be developed by Hideo Kojima, who departed Konami in late 2015. The game has shipped over six million copies worldwide.

Konami is now moving forward with the series without Kojima-san, with the first being the spin-off title Metal Gear Survive, which was recently delayed to early 2018.
