Sony is purportedly in talks with Jordan Vogt-Roberts to helm its long-waited movie adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, reports Deadline.
For those unaware, Vogt-Roberts was responsible for The Kings of Summer, and if all goes to plan, will come on board the Metal Gear film as director.
It’s the most recent update on the project in quite some time, which is mainly due to the fact Sony and developer Kojima Productions previously failed to reach an agreement on how to adapt the story of Solid Snake for the silver screen.
Metal Gear’s transition to film has been a hot topic for years now, and in that time, a number of major video game movies have come and gone. Furthermore, some have been canned outright, including the likes of BioShock and Halo.
