The Game Business has reported that Microsoft is poised to announce more Xbox titles for other formats including PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 ‘in the coming weeks.’
Speaking in a new article published today, Christopher Doing touches on the success of multiplatform game success as noted by Mat Piscatella of Circana. As previously reported, Forza Horizon 5, which was originally released for PC and Xbox formats a few years back, has achieved great success on PS5, selling over three million copies since its April 2025 launch.
Piscatella noted that we’re “way beyond” the point of consumers switching to different consoles due to exclusive software. “People who buy a hardware system these days, they’re doing it because of the ecosystem, because of their friends list. You’re not going to get people to transition consoles because of exclusives anymore. We’re way beyond that point.”

The article later adds that “Xbox is expected to announce more game ports to other platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5, in the coming weeks.” While it remains to be seen what titles this may include, we know that one of the next major franchises, Gears of War, is heading to PlayStation for the first time in late August with Gears of War Reloaded.
Microsoft began porting a number of its Xbox-exclusives to Sony and Nintendo platforms last year, with the likes of Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush being among the first batch of titles released. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle also came to the PS5 in April, continuing the Xbox maker’s multiplatform push.
The format holder recently announced a new wave of layoffs at the company, which resulted in the cancellation of a number of major projects, including the Perfect Dark reboot and Everwild, as well as shutting down developer The Initiative.
