MLB The Show 21 Won’t Feature Year-To-Year Save Data Support

Developer Sony San Diego Studio has announced that MLB The Show 21 will not support year-to-year save transfers, a feature that has previously been a staple of the popular baseball franchise.

The studio confirmed the news in an FAQ on its official website:

No, year-to-year saves will not be supported in MLB The Show 21. We don’t have anything to share about the feature’s future, but we’re aware of its popularity in the community.

In case you haven’t been keeping up with the series’ latest developments, MLB The Show 21 is a massive step forward for the series, as it will also be coming to Xbox platforms. Yes, this means that Sony is technically making a game for a rival platform.

Not only that, but it will allow save progress transfers between consoles, so you can use a file for MLB The Show 21 on PS4 and then continue on an Xbox console. Who would have thought it, eh?

MLB The Show 21 is due for release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on April 20, 2021.
