Naughty Dog has responded to claims that the characters of Chloe and Cutter will not appear in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, stating it hasn’t yet revealed the full cast for the action-adventure sequel’s campaign mode.
Speaking with Finder.com, the California-based developer’s communications boss, Arne Meyer, made it clear that there are more characters yet to be confirmed for the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 adventure game. Whether this includes Chloe and Cutter, however, remains to be seen, but there’s certainly hope that they may yet appear.
Said Meyer: "I don’t know if I’m at liberty to speculate about all that right now. We’ve been pretty tight-lipped about the story and the fates of characters, and we haven’t revealed everyone who’s in the game yet. There’s a little bit more to reveal soon."
Chloe was spotted in the Uncharted 4 multiplayer reveal trailer showcased during Paris Games Week, although we haven’t seen her in the main campaign as of yet. As for Jason Statham lookalike Cutter, he hasn’t appeared at all at the time of writing. Could Naughty Dog be holding both characters back as a surprise for players? It’s possible, especially as Uncharted 4 has been heavily publicised as the final instalment in the popular series. The game will be released on March 18, 2016, putting it out slightly later than originally planned.
Uncharted 4 will see the return of protagonist Nathan Drake (well, he was hardly going to be absent, was he?) alongside long-time partner Victor ‘Sully Sullivan and love interest Elena Fisher. Not only that, but the cocky fortune hunter will be reunited with his long-lost sibling, Sam Drake, with the duo embarking on a globe-trotting journey to uncover a legendary pirate’s treasure. The game’s multiplayer, meanwhile, will include eight new maps and will run at 900p/60fps.
