The producer behind Little Nightmares 2 has revealed a bunch of new details on the upcoming sequel, confirming players can expect a much larger adventure this time around. Chatting with Twinfinite, Lucas Roussel revealed that feedback from the original Little Nightmares helped to shape the upcoming sequel, with game length being one of the main issues addressed.
Little Nightmares 2 Is Far Bigger Than Its Predecessor
Roussel revealed that game length is just one of the areas that Little Nightmares 2 will improve on its predecessor; players can also expect greater enemy variety and environments too, which should definitely keep fans happy.
We had a lot of feedback for the first game, very positive but also things that we could improve. I think one of those was the game’s length felt a bit short. This time we’re targeting for a bigger game with more environments, more variety, and more enemies.
Also we could have done better with some of the checkpoint systems, when you respawn and the loading times when you respawn that were a bit long. That’s something we took into consideration and we’re going to improve for the second game.
Little Nightmares 2 was announced during the Gamescom pre-show event last Monday. Developer Tarsier Studios has confirmed the game will launch for PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in 2020.
While Six will be returning for more spooky antics, Little Nightmares 2 will also introduce a new character by the name of Mono to accompany players on their journey.
The original Little Nightmares was released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in April 2017 and achieved critical and commercial success, selling over one million copies worldwide across all formats as of August last year.
While it’s early days yet, players can expect the same winning combination of puzzle-platforming with the upcoming sequel, and the fact the developer has committed to improving the first game’s shortcomings as definitely good news.
