Krafton has revealed in its latest financial report that Unknown Worlds Entertainment is working on a third Subnautica game.
Following the boat Subnautic and Subnautica: Below Zero, the third entry in the underwater survival series is expected to arrive in 2025. Right now there’s not many details available, and the game’s title hasn’t even been revealed, with the report simply referring to it as “the next Subnautica.”
Unknown Worlds Entertainment has previously hinted that it wasn’t done with the Subnautica franchise, as back in April 2022 it posted up a job listing for a senior narrative designer “to help shape the next game in the Subnautica universe.”
The original Subnautica was released for PS4 and Xbox One in December 2018, with PC versions gaining early access a few years prior. The sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero, arrived for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in May 2021.
