A joint press release from Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics has revealed that the new Tomb Raider game will be a ‘single-player, narrative-driven adventure’ and that the former is not only helping out with development, but will also act as the game’s publisher.
In typical Tomb Raider fashion, the new game will include “mind-bending puzzles to solve” and will see Lara Croft encountering a “wide variety of enemies to face and overcome.” It’s also the “biggest, most expensive Tomb Raider game to date.”
Unfortunately that’s about all we know right now, although the studios did say that more info will be announced “at a later date.” Given the fact the new Tomb Raider is still in early development, we’ve probably got a bit of a wait on our hands
Crystal Dynamics announced earlier this year that the next instalment in the Tomb Raider franchise was in development, although didn’t provide any additional details at the time. A few months later, the head of the studio the company was excited to show where they are heading with the game in 2023.
Back in September, it was revealed that Crystal Dynamics had now taken charge of franchises including the likes of Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain.
