Onimusha 3: Demon Siege Remaster Not Currently In The Pipeline – Focus Remains On Way Of The Sword

In an interview with JP Games, Capcom producer Akihito Kadowaki shared fans’ desire to see Onimusha 3: Demon Siege remastered, but the game isn’t currently in the pipeline as the studio is all hands on deck with Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

We are very much aware that there is a desire for a remaster of Onimusha 3. We receive a lot of feedback. But currently our team is about 170 people, and we are all focused very much on „Way of the Sword“. To divert anybody away from that into another remaster or any other side project would detract from the current project, and we don’t want to compromise „Way of the Sword“ in any way.

Given that Onimusha received remasters of the original Onimusha: Warlords and Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, it’s natural for fans to hope that the third game in the franchise would also receive a remaster before the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

The Onimusha franchise had been on hiatus, taking a twelve-year break from the release of Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in 2006 and a return in 2018 with the Onimusha: Warlords remaster.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the first new title to be released in the franchise in almost twenty years. PSU’s own got to go hands-on with Onimusha Way of the Sword last month. Find out what he thought in his hands-on preview.
