PS2 classics coming to Europe

Sony has confirmed that PlayStation 2 classics are “en route” to European territories via the PlayStation Store.

The PS2 classics range forms part of Sony’s new Only On PSN initiative for North America, which kicked off on October 4.

As such, U.S. gamers have already been able to tuck in to a variety of titles including Odin Sphere, Maximo: Ghost To Glory, GrimGrimoire, Ring of Red and God Hand. However, they’ve yet to make the jump to PAL regions.

Writing in a post on the European PlayStation Blog, Sony’s Andy Stewart commented, "They are coming, I don’t have an ETA yet but I have heard they are ‘on route’ [sic]"

"We will not be having the full ‘Only on PSN’ scheme," added Stewart. "We will be replicating some of the deals but not all of them. Which ones and when I can’t confirm yet."

Elsewhere, Sony also touched on PSOne Classic Arc the Lad, which mistakenly arrived in its Japanese incarnation on the European PlayStation Store last week.

"Arc the Lad is being fixed, sadly I don’t have an ETA yet, once it is then it is my understanding that PLUS members will get it for free," Stewart said.
