PS4 Slim leaked images and release date surface

Sony’s as-yet unannounced PlayStation 4 (PS4) Slim has popped up for sale on British website Gumtree.

The user in question has uploaded a wealth of images on the device, which are either the result of an incredibly impressive hoax, or the real deal. Further images (via NeoGAF, Push Square) have since found their way onto the web, and their authenticity is getting harder to call into question considering the quality of the photos.

It’s interesting to note that the console’s design aligns neatly with a drawing posted by a purported employee of Foxconn, a Taiwanese manufacturing company, earlier this summer. This same individual claimed that in addition to the PS4 Slim, he also worked on a “thicker model that is almost 10 pounds.” PS4 Neo perhaps?

PS4 Slim release date

According to the Gumtree listing, the PS4 Slim release date is set for September 14, 2016, with Sony poised to officially unveil the console during its PlayStation Meeting event in New York City early next month.

In addition, it is also expected that the PS4 Neo will be unveiled for the first time at the event after Sony confirmed the upgraded hardware’s existence during a chat with the Financial Times prior to E3.
