Sony has announced that the white edition of the Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 for PS4 will launch across Europe on September 16.
Previously available in black, the headset boasts 7.1 virtual surround sound and a highly sensitive hidden microphone that can be used in both offline and online gaming sessions. While the headset is also compatible with PS3 and PS Vita platforms, not all games and applications on those systems fully support 7.1 virtual surround sound.
Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the headset when used on PS4 is that you can download individually configured, custom audio modes that have been finely tuned by the developer of whatever game it is that you’re playing, in order to provide you with the full, aural experience.
Of these modes, the next one to be released is for WB Games highly anticipated Batman Arkham Knight which is set to release next week.
Existing audio modes can be downloaded to the headset from the Headset Companion App for PS4 that can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store.
