Bloomberg reporter Takashi Mochizuki has said that he expects the PS5 console design reveal is going to happen pretty sharpish, with Sony having already kicked off mass production for the new system.
PS5 Console Design Reveal Is’ Near’
This suggests that we’ll get our first glimpse at the console itself during the heavily rumored PS5 reveal event on June 3, which would make a lot of sense at this point. Here’s what Mochizuki said in a new update on Twitter:
I expect official reveal of PS5 design is near anyway because, as I wrote in this article, mass production is starting and that means leak risk of console/console image. Given SIE trying to stay ahead of curve, reveal shouldn’t be too far away.
It was previously claimed that Sony will be emphasising games running on actual hardware at the PS5 event, although again, it’s worth pointing out that the hardware giant has not made any official announcements at this point.
Sony will launch the PS5 this holiday season alongside the Xbox Series X from Microsoft.
