PSN 12 Deals of Christmas takes to the pitch with PES 2016

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has added a new game to its 12 Deals of Christmas sale, with Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 the latest game to receive a festive discount.

As with previous offers, you can grab PES 2016 at a 50 percent discount. Not only that, but you have a choice of picking the regular edition of the footie title, or the Anniversary Edition.

  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 – Was €59.99/£54.99. Now €29.00, £24.99
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 Anniversary Edition – Was €69.99/£59.99. Now €34.99, £29.99

Don’t hang about if you want to pick up the game though; Sony will be booting off PES 2016 tomorrow in favour of a brand new deal. Previous games on offer for the 12 Deals of Christmas include Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Mad Max, and WWE 2K16.

Sony has enjoyed a bumper 2015 so far, with the PlayStation 4 selling over 30 million units worldwide since its release in November 2013 alongside the Xbox One. While Microsoft continues to obfuscate hardware sales for its flagship console, it is widely accepted that the PS4 is comfortably outselling its lead rival; in fact, Microsoft has admitted it may not even be able to catch up with Sony’s console going forward.

Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter feels that there’s not much Microsoft can do to close the gap on PS4, which is already tracking well ahead of the multi-million selling PS2 in the U.K. Sony announced earlier this week it recorded its best ever Black Friday sales this year, with the PS4 not only managing to outpace the Xbox One’s sales in the U.K. but also came out on top at Best Buy during the lucrative sales weekend

Sony recently hosted its annual PlayStation Experience press conference, where the format holder announced a slew of new titles and offered the first glimpse at the hotly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake in action.
