An announcement made via the PlayStation Blog today has said that the PlayStation Portable will receive a Firmware update, which will prompt users to update their PlayStation Network password from the PSPs XMB, if they have not already done so.
Firmware update 6.39 will not only include a step by step password change process, but it will also include some fixes to help increase the stability of the Sony handheld.
Sony has not yet specified when the new Firmware update will go live, except to say that it will be released "soon".
The PlayStation 3 had a similar update deployed several weeks ago, following the PSN server breach that has compromised millions of user accounts and personal data.
