The story itself primarily focuses on Japan Display Inc’s decision to shift away from providing LCD screens to Apple in favour of VR headsets, where it goes on to note that Sony is not part of this trend. As a result, the format holder plans to “use Samsung Display Co. OLED panels in its next-generation PlayStation VR goggles,” which are slated to launch in “the holiday period next year.”
Sounds an awful lot like PSVR 2’s release window does it not? Even so, better take this with a pinch of salt for the time being, as Sony obviously hasn’t announced anything at this point other than the fact it’s working on a next-generation PSVR.
Sony hasn’t revealed what the new PSVR will look like, but it has given us a look at the device’s controller, which will utilise a number of features seen in the DualSense.
