PSVR 2 To Start Shipping In Q2 2022, Says Taiwanese Apple Analyst

According to TF International Securities’ Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Sony will start shipping its upcoming PSVR 2 headset in Q2 2022.

Apple itself is looking to make waves in the AR/VR market, and therefore have been looking at the competition, which includes the likes of Sony and Meta. Ming-Chi Kuo also has been pretty on point with predictions in the past, so there’s definitely reason to believe that PSVR 2 could be rolling out within this time frame.

We predict that Sony’s PS5 VR will be shipped from 2Q22, and Yujingguang and Goertek will be the Fresnel lens suppliers.

PSVR 2 hasn’t got a concrete release date yet, but Sony used its presentation at CES 2022 to officially confirm the device’s specs, as well as revealing the headset will indeed be titled PlayStation VR2. The headset will support brand new controllers featuring haptics and adaptive triggers, much like the DualSense controller.
