Pure dev says PS3/360 versions will be "exactly the same"

Pure director Jason Avent has assured gamers that the PlayStation 3 version of the forthcoming off-road racer will perform exactly the same as its Xbox 360 counterpart.

"It’s the same; exactly the same," said Avent, during an interview with consumer website Eurogamer. "I’d say around January time we had all the functionality in the PS3 version that we had in the 360."

"Now we’ve got them both running and 30 frames per second is our target. It does dip down, but we’ve got months to optimise it. We do side-by-side comparisons just like you guys do."

Avent noted that he has had access to a PS3 SDK for some time now as a result of his working relationship formed with Sony while developing ATV vs. Offroad Fury 3 and 4.

Production of the game is being lead of the Xbox 360, however, due to the fact developer Black Rock Studio had a "mature engine" from MotoGP ’06 and ’07.

Pure is due out on PS3, PC and Xbox 360 this fall.
