Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Requiem – aka Resident Evil 9 — has amassed over one million Wishlists from players across digital storefronts, which presumably includes the PlayStation Store. The game has been available to Wishlist from the day of its announcement at Summer Game Fest earlier this month.
“Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the over one million of you who wishlisted #ResidentEvilRequiem! Thank you!” the publisher wrote on X.
In case you missed it, Resident Evil Requiem will be featured at the Capcom Spotlight this Thursday evening alongside Pragmatic and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

Resident Evil Requiem is set decades after the destruction of Raccoon City and sees FBI agent, Grace Ashcroft, investigating a series of murders in the same location that her mother – Resident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa Ashcroft – was killed. Players are also going to be able to visit the ruins of Raccoon City at some point in the game, with structures such as the R.P.D. still standing despite having suffered huge damage when the city was bombed.
Leon S. Kennedy has been heavily rumoured to appear in Resident Evil Requiem as the second playable character, although Capcom hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Insider Dusk Golem also claimed that RE9 was rebooted in 2021 and was originally designed as an open-world multiplayer game.
Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
