According to a report on Variety, Constantin Films is planning to launch a Resident Evil TV series following the release of the sixth movie instalment in the action-horror franchise.
Details on the plot and central characters for the series have yet to be revealed, though previous reports on a Resident Evil TV show set the action before the events of the original game in the midst of a series of cannibalistic homicides.
Paul W.S. Anderson is currently working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which is set to reunite heroine Alice with a number of characters from the games, including Leon S. Kennedy, Albert Wesker, Ada Wong, Jill Valentine, and Claire Redfield.
The final movie will see Alice and the last remnants of the human race battling against Umbrella’s bio-weapons, which have converged upon humanity’s final stronghold in Washington, DC.
A reboot of the series, based on Capcom’s multi-million selling video game franchise, has also been rumored to be in the pipeline.
