Rocksteady’s confirmed that Robin, the faithful sidekick to the Caped Crusader, will indeed be appearing as a playable hero as part of Batman: Arkham City’s Challenge Maps.
As previously revealed by Best Buy last week, the Boy Wonder will form part of a pre-order incentive for customers who purchase Arkham City at the U.S. retail giant.
Currently the offer is only available in North America, though we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop should Rocksteady roll out a similar deal for European territories.
Voiced by Tim Drake, Robin comes with a fresh move-set and unique gadgets, in addition to an alternate costume in the shape of the Red Robin skin. As part of the pre-order bonus, gamers will also gain access to the Black Mass Hideout and Freight Train Escape Challenge maps.
Batman: Arkham City is due for release in October 2011 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
