Sony Music Entertainment and Roblox have inked a partnership that will extend a previous collaboration that featured an in-game 2020 Lis Nas X concert, plus Zara Larsson appearing in a virtual dance party within Roblox.
The press release reveals that the partnership includes “innovative music experiences for the Roblox community that offer a range of new commercial opportunities for Sony Music artists to reach new audiences and generate new revenue streams around virtual entertainment.”
The deal is perhaps not too surprising, as Roblox’s CEO previously said that a PS5 and PS4 release of the popular world-building platform ‘makes sense.’ While this deal doesn’t explicitly include anything about such a release, it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

Roblox, which is aimed at younger gamers and is sort of a LEGO-esque version of Dreams, has found great success on the PC and Xbox, but hasn’t yet made the transition to Sony platforms. Let’s hope that’s going to be fixed in the not-too-distant future.
