Rumor: Dead Rising 4 is in development, but will it come to PS4?

Capcom Vancouver is reportedly beavering away on Dead Rising 4, according to NeoGAF insider Ekim (via thisgengaming).

The tipster wasn’t sure, however, if the zombie sequel will be announced at E3 in a few weeks time, nor did he know if the game would be an exclusive to Xbox One like its predecessor.

It’s worth mentioning that Capcom Vancouver has a new partnership with Epic Games to utilize the acclaimed Unreal Engine, so any new projects at the studio would make use of this technology.

Dead Rising 3 was released as an Xbox One launch title back in 2013 and performed well at retail, making a follow-up seem all the more likely. Capcom Vancouver later brought the game to PC.

The franchise marks its 10th anniversary this year, having first launched in summer 2006 on the Xbox 360. While Frank West’s original zombie adventure also hit the Wii in the shape of Chop Till You Drop, Dead Rising didn’t grace a Sony console until the release of Dead Rising 2 in 2010.

We know that Capcom has two new games in development for release by March 31, 2017, so there’s a chance that Dead Rising 4 could be one of these titles.
