Fumito Ueda, director of The Last Guardian, has resigned from his position with Sony Computer Entertainment, but will still maintain an active freelancer role to help see out the development of the title that is still in mid-development.
Eurogamer sought comment from Sony, but were met with a brick wall with the Japanese hardware giant stating "Sony does not comment on rumor and speculation."
The source responsible for the leak of this news also claims that Ueda’s departure is one of few reasons as to The Last Guardian’s slow development, along with a lack of staff and Ueda’s attention to detail.
The Last Guardian is due out at some point next year.
