Heavy Spectrum has announced that the upcoming PlayStation 4 remaster of Shadow of the Beast will include a fully emulated version of the original Amiga title.
The retro classic will also benefit from the addition of an infinite lives option for those having trouble beating the notoriously tricky actioner.
"As fans of the original, we wanted to offer new players to chance to experience first-hand the game that inspired us and offer fellow fans of the original a chance to re-live it. To that end, we’ve included a full emulation of the original Amiga game (we think this might be the first time an Amiga emulation has been published on a Sony console!) as an unlockable bonus in the main game – that means you’ll get the entire original Amiga game alongside the new Shadow of the Beast!" commented Heavy Spectrum’s Matt Birch.
In addition to the full Amiga version being included, Shadow of the Beast on PS4 will include the original, David Whittaker-composed soundtrack as an unlockable extra.
Shadow of the Beast’s original release also featured striking artwork created by Roger Dean, the artist best known for his evocative, fantasy-inspired landscapes used on various albums by the English progressive rock band, Yes.
