PlayStation 4 PS4 Retro City Rampage Shakedown: Hawaii VBlank

Shakedown: Hawaii Gets A PS4 Release Date

VBlank’s latest retro open world game, Shakedown: Hawaii has been given a release date on PS4. Not only that, it’s really soon too. Another great tidbit of news is that the game is also going to be available on the PS Vita – notable not least because a lot of developers seem to be skipping our glorious little portable console, so this news is very welcomed indeed.

Who said the adorable little console was dead?

When Can I Play?

You will only have to wait until May 7th, 2019 to get your mitts on this retro mayhem-filled title. We have certainly been waiting with bated breath for this news and for good reason – the game looks like great fun. We have been following it very closely and attached below is a gameplay overview for you to feast your eyes on.

The action certainly looks mental, boasting a nice mix of open world fun and taking over businesses.

Retro City Rampage

Shakedown: Hawaii is the follow up to the niche, yet very popular title Retro City Rampage. The games have very similar styles but from what we have seen the gameplay is quite different. The graphics also look like they have been vastly improved too – the fresh, 16-bit style pixel-art aesthetic looks lovely in the new game.

Retro City Rampage reviewed quite well, it had lots to do, it was filled with humor and was an entertaining nostalgia trip. Hopefully, the new title has the same amount of humor to it and includes a lot of the content that made Retro City Rampage so much fun.

One of the things we really liked about Retro City Rampage was the Easter eggs and nods to video game culture. The game was littered with them and we hope that the latest title will not be afraid to point fun at our favorite industry.
