Something Oddworld-related to be announced by ‘end of July’

Stewart Gilray, studio head at Just Add Water, has revealed that the company is planning on announcing something related to its upcoming Oddworld revival by the end of this month.

Furthermore, he hinted that the game may event be out around the same time. GamesCom is apparently off the cards, however, with Gilray adding that the developer isn’t planning anything for August’s Cologne-based mega event.

Quizzed by VG247 as to whether or not we’d hear any ‘platform announcements’ on the project at GamesCom, Gilray replied: “Right now, we’re not planning anything for gamescom at all,” adding, “So put those rumours to bed right now."

“We are doing something which will be announced, I’m liking to think, by the end of July, and might even be released by the end of July. But none of the ‘big stuff’ will be announced yet. Not gamescom, nothing on that.”

Again, he reiterated that there’s no plans for GamesCom, stating, “So for everybody saying to us, ‘Oh, it’s gamescom’: nothing is gamescom.”

More as it breaks.
