Sony: All future first party titles will use Online Pass

Sony previously confirmed this week that Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will make use of the Online Pass system announced earlier this year, however the firm has now stated that all future first party releases will make use of the system as well.

"Online Pass will be incorporated into Uncharted 3 and future Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) games with online functionality," said the Japanese hardware giant, when speaking with Destructoid.

"We will provide further information in the future."

Sony’s PSN Online Pass follows a similar system that has been employed by other game publishers such as Electronic Arts, where newly purchased titles are bundled with a one-time code, which upon redemption, gives the player access to online multiplayer and other services, all in the effort to stop used game sales.
