Sony champions PS4 as the ‘Best Place to Play’ this holiday season

PlayStation 4 offers the ‘best place to play all the biggest games,’ platform holder Sony has claimed in a new trailer for its current-generation console.

The new trailer, seen below, features snippets of a number of top games, including Star Wars Battlefront, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Given the proximity to the Christmas holiday season, it’s unsurprising to see Sony bringing out the big marketing guns at this time of year; it’ll be interested to see just how the PS4 fares against the Xbox One by the time Christmas has died down.

PS4 has enjoyed huge success so far this year, with Sony announcing last month that the state-of-the-art console has sold 30.2 million units since its launch in November 2013. The machine also enjoyed a great Black Holiday too, with PS4 outselling the Xbox One in the U.K. during this time and becoming Best Buy’s top earner during the lucrative Thanksgiving period.

This gave Sony its biggest sales to date for the Black Friday shopping period. Right now, the console is beating Xbox One in the global hardware race, something which Microsoft has acknowledged by stating it may not be able to catch up with its leading rival.  Furthermore, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan reckons that Microsoft is unlikely to close the gap on PS4 going forward.
