Sony Interactive Entertainment expects increase revenue from its first-party games year-on-year, the company said during its latest financial results.
The format holder anticipates a boost in sales from first-party games during the period April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. This is pretty impressive, seeing as how Sony managed to sell 58.4 million first-party titles during the last financial year.

Overall it was a highly successful year for Sony, with its Game & Network Services division posting its best ever year with over $24 billion in revenue. Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus members have hit 46.7 million worldwide, and PS5 has hit 7.8 million units.
Finally, combined sales of PS5 and PS4 software during the fourth quarter of 2020 hit $61.4 million.

Looking ahead, Sony has a number of major PS5 games coming out, including Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, Horizon: Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok. The company’s next State of Play event will take place on Thursday evening.
