Ape Escape Killzone News PS5 PS6 Sly Cooper Sony Sony Accepting Game Pitches

Sony Is Reportedly Accepting ‘Game Pitches’ On Fan Favourite Series, Ape Escape & Sly Cooper Set For Comeback

Sony Interactive Entertainment is “accepting multiple game pitches” for new projects inspired by fan favourite franchises, according to a leaker who previously outed God of War spinoff, Sons of Sparta.

According to the tipster, the likes of Ape Escape, Killzone, and Sly Cooper are among the franchise that they have heard are looking to be resurrected. As previously reported, a Killzone project believed to be a remake or remaster is currently in production with Guerrilla Games and an external partner, which is hotly tipped to be People Can Fly. Meanwhile, a new Ape Escape is apparently also in the pipeline at an as-yet unnamed studio.

The leaker notes that the projects are not being outsourced or published by an external company, with Sony itself funding and publishing the new games, some of which involve the original creators. The tipster added that he’s “under the impression we will see the first wave of this initiative around [the] PS6 launch window,” so they won’t see the light of day just yet.

The Killzone series hasn’t been seen since the launch of the PS4 with Killzone Shadow Fall, after which developer Guerrilla Games shifted focus to Horizon: Zero Dawn. Ape Escape has been on ice even longer, with the last mainline game being 2005’s PS2 title, Ape Escape 3, although there have been numerous spinoff party since that title. Finally, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is to date the last major instalment in that series, arriving in 2013 for the PS3.
