Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s organised efforts to reach out to indie developers are spearheaded by Senior Business Development Manager, Shahid Kamal Ahmad.
In an exclusive interview with PlayStation Universe, Shahid gave us an insight into how pricing is chosen for digital titles, revealing that the most influential factor in choosing how to price a downloadable indie game, and the question they ask themselves is: what does the developer want? He says that Sony wants to be more flexible and open than its competitors, which is reflected in this kind of business approach where Sony isn’t just calling the shots but listening to the needs of its fledgling developers.
Shahid has been at the forefront of this indie movement on PlayStation platforms which is set to explode as we head toward the launch of the PlayStation 4. Shahid told us that there are currently around 25 unannounced titles for PlayStation platforms in the works and we can expect many more in the years to come.
The PlayStation 4 was showcased at Sony’s E3 press conference this week where the audience saw the console for the first time, heard about the many features of the PS4 and got to see some amazing new games heading our way this holiday season.
