Star Wars Battlefront 2 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor by employing the use of dedicated servers, the game’s associate design director has confirmed on Twitter.
Dennis Brannvall from DICE also revealed that the much-anticipated sci-fi shooter will not present the same level of freedom as Star Wars Battlefront’s Star Cards as far as its class system is concerned, but made it clear that "you can definitely customize your trooper class quite drastically to suit your playstyle."
Elsewhere, he briefly touched on the reloading mechanic for Star Wars Battlefront 2, indicating it will be mix of cooldown and traditional reloading. “We’re doing some improvements and we’ll have more details later," he offered.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on November 17, 2017. The game is already looking to address many of the criticisms aimed at the original game, specifically the lack of a dedicated campaign, with developer DICE promising a proper single-player experience in addition to the multiplayer offerings.
In addition to the standard release of the sequel, publisher Electronic Arts is also releasing a Star Wars Battlefront 2 Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition, which includes a host of extra content. Gamers should also keep in mind that if you preorder the game you’ll gain access to some extra goodies based on the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi movie.
