Star Wars Battlefront live action trailer urges you to ‘Become More Powerful’

Electronic Arts has unleashed a live action trailer for Star Wars Battlefront ahead of its hotly anticipated release later this month on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

This latest trailer was clearly influenced by the demise of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, namely when Darth Vader attacks his former mentor and he appears to vanish, becoming one with The Force. Indeed, the famous line ‘strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine‘ is used in the trailer. The trailer proceeds to show dozens of people performing the same trick during their daily lives, only to reappear in-game. It’s quite fun, truth be told.

Star Wars Battlefront is due out on November 17 in North America and November 20 in Europe, with the game taking up 23GB on your PS4 hard drive. It’ll also receive a Darth Vader-themed PS4 hardware bundle for those looking to pick up Sony’s console alongside a copy of the sci-fi shooter, as well as a Star Wars-themed DualShock 4. Oh, and those of you who love a bit of resolution banter will be glad to know that the game runs at 900p on PS4. The game recently wrapped up a successful beta period, with EA confirming over nine million players got a taste of Star Wars Battlefront during the testing phase.

Battlefront is seen as a reboot of sorts of the popular science-fiction shooter franchise, which garnered huge popularity during the PS2 era. However, unlike previous games, the game won’t include a single-player campaign, instead focusing on large-scale multiplayer battles across iconic planets such as Hoth, Tatooine, Endor, and Sullust.

Players take on the role of either the Rebels or the Empire as they go head-to-head in heated firefights, where you’ll be taking down massive walkers, securing drop pods, and even stepping into the legendary boots of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo, and many more of Star Wars’ iconic characters.
