Star Wars Battlefront update 1.01 out now for PS4, check out the full patch notes

Electronic Arts has detailed the day-one patch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Star Wars Battlefront, available to download from today for anyone lucky enough to have received the game ahead of its launch next week.

The update will bring the hotly anticipated sci-fi shooter to version 1.01, and includes the following tweaks (via Reddit):

  • Tweaked hero card spawn times
  • General bug fixes for the partner system
  • Various fixes for getting stuck when exiting Starfighters and ground vehicles
  • General crash and stability fixes
  • Online traffic performance improvements
  • Various text fixes for all languages
  • General bug fixes for both Missions and Multiplayer

Star Wars Battlefront is due out next week for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The game eschews the single-player component seen in previous iterations of the much-loved franchise, instead focusing on large-scale multiplayer battles. Gamers will travel to a number of iconic Star Wars locations including Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust as they take on the role of a Rebel or Empire troop in massive firefights, as well as stepping into the legendary boots of the likes of Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia.

Last month Star Wars Battlefront went into open beta and drummed up an eye-watering 1.6 billion minutes of play time with nine million users flocking to the playable teaser. Earlier this week EA confirmed a full list of weapons and detailed the various Star Cards you can find in the game, while Sony released a couple of new gameplay clips teasing customisation and a rather brutal kill by the one and only Darth Vader. Be sure to have a look at the new Star Wars Battlefront live action trailer when you get a chance, and check out the Star Wars-themed DualShock 4 controller while you’re at it.
