Star Wars Outlaws Developer Highlights The Importance Of Reputation In PS5’s Sci-Fi Epic

Julian Gerighty, creative director at Ubisoft Massive, has expounded on the importance of reputation in the highly anticipated Star Wars Outlaws, which drastically shape how your character progresses in the upcoming sci-fi epic.

In case you haven’t been keeping up, Star Wars Outlaws puts you in control of Kay Vess, an outlaw from the Outer Rim. Players will be able to influence the direction that Kay takes; you can guide her on the path of Han Solo loveable rogue or perhaps align her with the ruthlessness of a mercenary like Boba Fest.

As a scoundrel, you live and die by your reputation, meaning that Kay will have to navigate the underworld and its various crime syndicates, making choices that will impact her reputation, her experience, and her support throughout the game. A good reputation could lead to some of the most lucrative opportunities, and a bad reputation could result in [Kay Vess] facing a syndicate’s wrath as they hunt her down.

Previously, Ubisoft Massive described how Star Wars Outlaws won’t be a 200 – 300 hour ‘unfinishable RPG,’ and instead will be ‘very manageable.’

Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, although a concrete release date has yet to be announced.
