A live-action Street Fighter movie is officially in the works, Capcom and Legendary Entertainment have announced, the news coming only days after it was publicly revealed that Legendary had purchased the tv and film rights for the franchise.
It was earlier this week on Monday when Capcom and Legendary Entertainment announced that Legendary had acquired the rights for a Street Fighter film or tv show, with no new projects announced at the time.
Now we’ve got confirmation that Legendary will be beginning this new relationship with Capcom with a film, an unsurprising move from the production company behind some of the biggest films in recent years.
Now comes the anxious part for fans, who’ll likely be waiting quite a while before things around this new film begin to take shape, and we get a sense of what it’ll really be.
The next big video game adaptation film to come though in the meantime will be Sony’s upcoming Gran Turismo film.
