Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Insider Series Episode #2 Showcases The Other DC Characters Featured

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is set to arrive this coming February, and ahead of that release Rocksteady Studios has published episode #2 in its Suicide Squad Insider video series.

While the initial episode focused on the game’s story, this episode features the other DC characters you’ll meet along the way to killing the Justice League, including announcing the return of a character previously thought to be dead.

Rocksteady even provided a spoiler warning for those that may not want to know who this is, which compels this message to readers: spoilers ahead.

It’s Poison Ivy, though not as she was when she died in Arkham Knight. She’s been given a new life, in a sense, and is only a child, with no concrete memory of who she was before.

She does admit to her ‘pheromones’ remembering Harley, which establishes a base trust for her coming back with the Squad to the Hall Of Justice, and being a vendor from which you can level up special affliction attacks.

Afflictions are another layer of combat Rocksteady introduced with this Insider episode, something the team couldn’t take about before without bringing up Ivy’s return.

Regarding the other characters Rocksteady featured, the Insider episode shows us Hack, Toyman, Penguin and Gizmo. Each character, like Poison Ivy, represents another vendor where players can upgrade or level up various aspects of gameplay.

Penguin, according to Rocksteady really “comes alive as a character” by being your arms dealer throughout the game. All of these characters can also be found at the Hall Of Justice, which acts as your headquarters throughout the narrative.

Unfortunately for Rocksteady, no matter how much gameplay the studio shows off players are still weary about whether or not this game will be anything worthwhile.

Today’s Insider episode however could be something that turns things around, as the multi-layers to the combat does seem to potentially add a lot of interesting variety to gameplay.

It’s even more unfortunate that the big news of Ivy’s return, and other story bits, were already spoiled in a massive leak where a player in the game’s closed beta test published screenshots and videos of some pivotal moments in the game.

Rocksteady confirmed the leaks were real when it released a statement asking players to avoid spoilers where they can, but now at least for Ivy, Rocksteady is just coming out and telling players itself.

How players respond to the next Insider episode will be worth keeping an eye on however, as it’ll reveal more about the most contentious part of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League; it’s post-launch content and on-going plans.
