Are Sony going to announce The Last of Us 2 for a 2018 release at E3? We're not convinced, but this listing at an Australian retailer has got some fans hyped.
A new listing for a 2018 release of The Last of Us 2 has cropped up on EB Games in Australia. As you can see below, it states that they've listed a placeholder price, but put the release date as ‘TBC 2018'.
Fans have been expecting a 2019 release, but could this be one of the big surprises of this year's showcase?
We doubt it. Around December time, game director Neil Druckmann stated that the game was around 50-60% complete. It's omission from PlayStation's official ‘Most Anticipated Game For 2018' Awards is another clue that a 2018 release will be a stretch.
What we do know is that attendees at the Sony's E3 2018 conference on Monday will get to see from new The Last of Us 2 gameplay. Whether it will end with a shock release date of 2018 remains to be seen, but we don't think so.
