The Last of Us Part 2 didn’t get a multiplayer mode, but content creator Speclizer has been rummaging around in the game’s flies and come up with three armour models for Ellie for use in the scrapped mode.
Presumably these models were from leftover ideas that Naughty Dog had for the multiplayer before it was axed, as they clearly differ from anything she is able to wear in the main game. Whether or not they’re going to turn up in the standalone multiplayer mode or have been given the boot entirely is another question altogether, mind.
In addition to the models, Speclizer also managed to uncover “six multiplayer backpacks that [they] have not been able to load into the game.” They’re “assault, melee, sniper, stealth, support and tactical.”
The Last of Us Part 2 was released for PS4 in June 2020, and while multiplayer was initially confirmed for the game during its development cycle, it was ultimately dropped. Instead, Naughty Dog is working on a standalone Factions multiplayer for PS5.
