Jeffrey Pierce, the voice actor behind Tommy Miller in Naughty Dog‘s The Last of Us series, has revealed that he doesn’t know anything about the long-rumoured The Last of Us Part III, and hasn’t receive any form of script on the game.
Speaking with Dexerto, Pierce made it clear he isn’t aware of any developments on The Last of Us Part III, but made it clear he has absolute faith in whatever script Neil Druckmann ends up handing him if it happens.
At this point it’s not something that has begun in any fashion, at least, not that I know of, and I would hate to set myself up to have expectations about what it would be and then have it be something completely different. I’m going to trust when Neil hands me a script that it’s going to be perfect because that’s the way it’s been up until now. And when that happens and I’m asked about the Last of Us Part III, I have to say I have no idea what you’re talking about.
This isn’t the first time that Pierce has touched base on The Last of Us Part III. Back in February, the actor said that he would ‘really interested’ in reprising his role of Tommy should another entry in the series happen.
Naughty Dog hasn’t announced The Last of Us Part III yet, but it has been reported numerous times this year that the project is in the works. Notably, in February, website The Leaker claimed that The Last of Us Part III was in development and will launch on PS5 with PS6 in mind.
Fast-forward to July, and another report delved a little more into what to expect from the third entry in the post-apocalyptic franchise, suggesting it will introduce five new characters, with Ellie also set to return.
While we’ve probably got a long wait to find out if The Last of Us Part III is ever going to happen, Naughty Dog is remastering The Last of Us Part 2 for the PS5 in January 2024. This version of the game will include a new No Return mode, playable versions of cut levels, and overhauled visuals.
