The Witcher 4 Was Not Announced This Week, Clarifies CD Projekt RED

CD Projekt RED has offered clarification regarding yesterday’s announcement of a new project in The Witcher franchise, revealing that the project is not The Witcher 4, nor is it exclusive to one particular storefront.

Radek Grabovski, Global PR Director at CDPR, posted the following message on Twitter after people started getting a little to ahead of themselves regarding the new game:

What we have NOT announced today:

– A game called The Witcher 4.

– A game exclusive to one storefront.

It was our initial confirmation of a new saga in The Witcher franchise. Right now, we are not discussing any specifics in terms or story, characters, mechanics, or plot details.

The new Witcher project is in the early stages of development and is described as a brand new saga for the fantasy-RPG series. The project will utilise the Unreal Engine as part of a partnership with Epic Games, and this is presumably why people thought it would be exclusive to Epic’s storefront.
