Tomb Raider multiplayer developed by Thief 4 studio

The upcoming Tomb Raider reboot will feature a multiplayer component developed by Eidos Montreal, Crystal Dynamics has announced.

As a fellow Square-Enix owned studio, Eidos Montreal has previously worked on Deus Ex: Human Revolution and is also working on the fourth instalment in the Thief franchise.

Writing on the Eidos forum, community manager Meagan Marie said that the Montreal studio “has been working away at the multiplayer while we focused everything on the single-player offering.”

Details on Tomb Raider’s multiplayer content have yet to be revealed, though a listing on GAME – which has seen been removed – indicates you will play as Lara Croft’s shipmates or scavengers of the mysterious Island, Yamatai. Multiple modes have been touted.

Stay tuned to for more details as we get them.
