Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta file size confirmed for PS4

The Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta client will clock in at 7GB, developer Naughty Dog has confirmed during a live stream overnight.

As previously reported, access to the beta was given away with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for PlayStation 4, and will launch on Friday, December 4.  Pre-loading won’t be available although there’s plenty of time to take the multiplayer for a spin, as it doesn’t wrap up until December 13.

Naughty Dog also confirmed a slew of other details on the multiplayer beta, which can be seen in our earlier story. Sony lifted the wraps off Uncharted 4’s online component during Paris Games Week with an action-packed gameplay trailer, which revealed several new additions including mystical elements and sidekicks. The online portion of the game will run at 900p/60fps, with Naughty Dog explaining that decision to sacrifice resolution for a higher frame rate provides gamers with a better experience.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is due out on March 18, 2016, exclusively on PS4. Naughty Dog has confirmed that the game is the final chapter in Nathan Drake’s story and may very well be the last Uncharted game full stop, admitting it is difficult to imagine continuing the series without the loveable rogue. The studio has also said that it has one, possibly two more games to squeeze out of the PS4 going forward, although quite what it’s working on next remains a mystery. However, a sequel to The Last of Us remains a definite possibility, and has been rumored for some time now.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes place a few years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and sees the cocky fortune hunter teaming up with Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan and his long-lost brother, Sam, as the trio hunt down a legendary pirate’s treasure. The game is set to feature larger environments to explore, improved combat, smarter AI, and driveable vehicles among other additions to the formula.
