Vita versions of WipEout HD/Fury outed by Sony?

It seems that Sony may have said just a little too much when describing their latest plans for cross-platform functionality between the Vita and PlayStation 3 versions of their games. A recent post on the PlayStation Blog mentioned the following:

“If you purchase WipEout 2048, you will be able to download WipEout 2048’s DLC packs, WipEout HD and HD Fury for free when they launch on PS Vita later this spring (if you already own the PS3 versions)”

The free DLC is great and all but hold the phone; Sony Liverpool never mentioned plans to bring one of the most popular racing games on the PSN, WipEout HD, to the Vita.

Does this mean we can expect a slightly skimpier version of WipEout HD / Fury to hit Sony’s new handheld sometime this spring? It certainly looks that way.
