Focus Features has released a new TV commercial for the upcoming movie adaptation of Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank.
Seen below, the footage is pretty brief and focuses on the Sheepinator weapon. The results speak for themselves, really, so check it out and get yourself pumped for the iconic PlayStation duo’s cinematic debut.
Ratchet & Clank is scheduled to hit U.S. theatres on April 29, 2016, and is an origins story based around the original 2002 PlayStation 2 platformer, depicting how the eponymous duo came to met each other. The film stars James Arnold Taylor as Ratchet and David Kaye as his robotic companion, Clank.
Fans of the game can expect to see a host of other familiar faces to pop up in the film, including Captain Qwark (Jim Ward) and Doctor Nefarious (Armin Shimerman). The movie features a script penned by T.J. Fixman, former writer with Insomniac Games who worked on the Ratchet & Clank ‘Future’ trilogy.
In addition to the movie, Sony and Insomniac Games will release the PlayStation 4-exclusive Ratchet & Clank in April to coincide with the dynamic duo’s big screen debut. Much like the film, the game will tell an expanded origins story and feature numerous gameplay elements plucked from latter instalments in the franchise.
