Will Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 be on PS4? Square Enix‘s second chapter in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project is currently in the works, but hasn’t yet attracted a release date. With the first entry now confirmed for PS5 this summer, there’s a lot of speculation whether or not Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 PS4 will happen or not, or will be exclusive to next-gen.
Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Coming To PS4?
Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Happening?
Right now there’s no indication that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 isn’t coming to PS4, as Square Enix hasn’t said anything about confirmed platforms.
Well, okay, that’s not strictly true. It all but announced a PS5 release by mentioning how this version will take full advantage of PS5 hardware compared to FF7 Remake Intergrade, although let’s face it, it was always going to come to PS5 off the bat.
Still, unless Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 ends up being delayed for a few more years for whatever reason, there’s a good chance it will turn up on PS4. After all, Square Enix is unlikely to want to ignore all those consumers on Sony’s older console, right?
We’ll update this as soon as we get more info.
What Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2?
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 will continue the story from where the first chapter left off, as Cloud and co begin their globetrotting journey in pursuit of Sephiroth and travel to new locations. In the original Final Fantasy 7 game, which was spread across three discs, the Midgar portion ended as the party travels to Kalm Town and then towards Junon Harbour.
Presumably, the remake will follow a similar path, although with the changes made to the Midgar portion in the remake, there could be a few surprises along the way. However, with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 1 the length of a full-blown FF title, we can probably expect the second chapter to pack in many hours of gameplay.
A release date for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 has yet to be announced.
